Helmer defends seal culling: the missing paragraph

Thanks to my contact for providing the full text of the letter Roger Helmer wrote to a teenage girl to defend seal culling, I can fully answer some of the questions raised HERE and HERE by a number of right-wing bloggers.

When the Lincolnshire Echo ran the letter, they missed off Mr Helmer's final paragraph which reads:
Your sympathy for dumb animals does you credit, but my advice would be that you save your concerns for people rather than animals.

Call me old-fashioned, but I think Mr Helmer might have chosen his words more carefully, particularly when writing to a teenage girl who wants to train as a vet!

Are you seriously suggesting that anyone who asked the obvious question, one you probably would have got around to asking yourself at some point, is a "right-wing blogger"?

Dave:

No, not anyone Dave.

But some of Roger's acolytes who commented are, like him, definitely right of centre.

I also didn't use the words extremist and offensive about some of the comments, but others might well...

Present company excepted of course.

Are you a yellow-belly??

I live in Lincolnshire, but I'm not a native.

only lived here since i was eight, which is less than half a century, so probably not yet a local.

are you near the deepings??

I guess, depending on your definition of "near".
