Top Cop slates Cameron for distorting crime figures...

Another day, another blow to David Cameron's street cred, as one of the country's highest ranking police officers tells the Tory Leader he's talking nonsense on crime.

The President of the Association of Chief Police Officers says Cameron's talk of anarchy and a broken society is well wide of the mark and says he should remember the riots in Thatcher's Britain.

The top cop also points out that despite Cameron's scaremongering, crime is actually at its lowest since the Tories were in office!

Nobody believes the crime figures.

Evryone knows that they are politically distorted.

Cameron is only saying what most people actually think.

i know you Tories cannot accept that Britain is safer than when you lot cut police numbers, but just for once, listen to the leader of the Association of Chief Police Officers...

That would be like listening to the Chief Constable of Lincolnshire and we all know what he comes out with.

Just ask my friends at the Lincolnshire Echo who caught him out!

Geoffrey:

I've listened to the Chief Constable of Lincolnshire and I know what he's come out with: a safer Lincolnshire!

I've also listened to your mate Dave who was last week caught out telling porkies over the NHS.

This week he's been caught telling porkies on crime...

Do you honestly believe that Dave has more credibility than the Chief Constable of Lincolnshire...?

At the moment anyone has more credibility than the Chief Constable of Lincolnshire.

oh by the way Phil - have a close look at the opinion poll in the Times today.

Me thinks a autumn election may not be on the cards after all as the honeymoon is already falling to pieces.

I saw the UGov poll which puts Labour only three points ahead of the Tories.

The Times poll says the parties are level pegging.

Geoffrey, remember that under Thatcher and then Major, Labour frequently had a poll lead in double digits - except at the only poll that counts - the general elections...

Personally, and for what it's worth, my money's never been on an autumn snap election though Gordon is sensibly keeping his options open.

Regards the honeymoon falling to pieces, I presume you're referring to Ancram's full frontal attack today on Cameron....??

Great news that Bercow and Mercer are helping Gordon eh?
