Former Labour Foreign Secretary David Owen is the latest politician to lavish praise on Gordon Brown
Lord Owen left Labour in the 1980s to become one of the founders of the Social Democratic Party which later joined the Liberals to form the Lib-Dems.
Wonder if he'll be next to enter 'Gordon's big tent'...?

Say goodbye to any chance of him pointing outwards.
Not so many customers from Northern Rock singing praise in his direction.
If you want to steal a Lib Dem for the Big Tent, try Paddy Ashdown who has some refreshingly sensible remarks about the terror today and avoid David Owen at all costs because that man always cr*ps on his own doorstep (or tentpeg, in this case).

Some may take the view that Northern Rock has strenghtened Gordon by focusing the question of who would you rather have handling a big economic issue - Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling or David Cameron and Georgie Osborne...
