Mass arrest of migrant workers in South Lincs

Sixty men and women of all ages - all thought to be from Eastern Europe - were arrested while picking leeks in a Holbeach field today in one of the biggest ever operations in the UK to target the illegal trade of people trafficking across international borders.

I hope the authorities are able to nail those who organise and rake in the profits of this evil trade.

No such thing ever happened. Check the useful link to the BBC report which you have kindly provided, Phil.

Eight or 9 arrests, max, of organisers not migrant workers.

It is not clear from your blog what the "evil trade" is. Not leeks, surely? Presumably it's exploitation, but you do not say. We have to guess.

The only people who should be working in the fields in Holbeach are people claiming benefits.

Thanks. You'll see I've re-posted...

Thought the 'evil trade' was obvious, ie:

"the illegal trade of people trafficking across international borders..."

Not picking leeks...

Though with eight arrests, (or is it just three??), rather than 60, I accept my comments may have been rather premature...
