Love the picture of Quentin Davies, the newest of New Labour MPs which has appeared on Conservative Home, the unofficial blogsite of the Tory grassroots.
Conservative Home also carries a comment from Martin Hill, Tory Leader of Lincolnshire County Council spitting nails about the rather splendid news that he is now represented in Parliament by a Labour MP.
There's also extensive reaction from other shell-shocked Tories on CH, including the full statement from Simon Chapman, chairman of Stamford and Grantham Conservative Association.

It does you little credit to crow about this Phil. With the two main parties so well matched electorally now, I would expect defections from Labour to the Tories in the near future. I wouldn't rejoice about these, even though my sympathies are more with the Conservatives - if not their ridiculous leader. These incidents make us realise that our political class think themselves above those they represent(see their shameful surrender to Europe). Shame on them. Davies now proposes to sit as an MP for a Party his constituents voted against just two years ago, in support of a Prime Minister not elected by anyone(even his own party), when the electorate where promised the now ex-PM would serve a full term. Very democratic(!). Let's see how the electorate view these actions.
Phil, you are very good at telling us what the electorate want. Two years ago, we had an election. A number of things were unfair about that election. Despite getting more votes in England, the Tories were undone by the unfair state of the boundaries and the current constitutional mess regarding Scotland - namely their status as our overlords. One thing was very clear however - Quentin Davies' constituents(by a majority of 7500) wanted a Tory MP. I think it is very sad that their wishes have been ignored. I wonder how the activists who worked so hard to get this shit elected feel now. And I am sorry the Labour Party can praise such an affront to democracy - when everyone has known for ages that Quentin had got the huff over efforts to de-select him and was bound to do this sooner or later. Any MP resigning any whip to join another party should allow his electorate to judge his actions. Davies won't do that...because he knows that the Tories would win the seat back of him. Shame on him. Good f***ing riddance, I wish the cretin a painful and fatal slow disease.
The other issue is Cameron's leadership. Davies' pretext is right in that regard. Dave stands for nothing. And I suspect the likes of Davies doesn't like what the rest of the party would want him to stand for. So the Party is better of without his sort. Anyone else wanting to leave should do so before using the parties popularity to make a career for themselves, and then spitting in the face of these same loyalists.
Rumours doing the rounds today that Frank Field could be about to jump ship in the opposite direction.
michael says: 'I wish the cretin a painful and fatal slow disease...'
what it must be to be educated at a proper school michael...
i wouldn't wish such as fate on anyone - even you...
I have no time for treachery. I merely wish Davies the fate he deserves.
No doubt you'd prefer he got a peerage. Which at today's market rate costs about thirty pieces of silver.
