Problems at Deepings Recycling Centre...

Big problem at Deepings Recycling Centre. I understand our home-grown recycler Ian Prentice is being forced to charge for dropping off wood, glass and green waste following a sudden decision by Lincolnshire County Council to withhold recycling credits.

As county councillor for Deeping St James, I'm trying to get to the bottom of what's going on but so far I've been unable to find out what the problem is.

I shouldn't be surprised: I'm sorry to say it took the County Council almost two years of dithering to decide they were unable to contribute towards a regular rubbish skip after they withdrew the much-valued fortnightly service at the Rainbow car park.

Now they appear to have pulled the plug on Deepings Recycling Centre too, with no notice at all.

Watch this space...!

My word - We have life Phil.

I am having a lovely Champagne Breakfast here in Sunny Newbury this morning before I find my way to the racecourse to meet up with some old friends including the owner of Denman Harry Findlay to watch his beloved horse run the Gold Cup.

The Dodgy Donors Debacle seems to have gone from bad to worse again in the last 24 hours and with it any credibility that Gordon Brown had left.

Latest is that Labour have had lots of crisis meetings in a desperate attempt to try and regain the initiative before more twists and revelations come out as the Sunday press no doubt have a field day this week.

In the meantime both Iain Dale and Guido Fawkes continue to run the best running commentary I've seen in ages while I get a few quotes from the bookies on Jack Straw to be the next Prime Minister.

After all, there are more smoking guns in this scandal than there are in an old style Western Bonanza and judging by Harriet Harman's latest outspoken comments if she goes she's determined to take Gordon with her.

Come on Phil - where's your running commentary???

Watching the space, Phil. Any update on the recycling centre? I have some stuff to take - might have to fly-tip it instead! There's a good place behind a house just down the street ...
