Congrats to Conservative candidate Mike Exton, who has been elected as our new county councillor for Deeping St James.
I'm not sure whether I'm more disappointed to be replaced by a Conservative, or by someone who doesn't even live in our community.
Still, I wish him well and hope that he puts Deeping St James first, as I have tried to do for the past eight years.
A bit difficult as he lives in Stamford, is a district councillor for Market Deeping and now county councillor for Deeping St James...
But since I didn't stand, I can't complain at the result!
Wonder if I should send Mike a map of how to get to DSJ...?
Full result for the Deeping St James Division:
EXTON, Mike (Conservative) 846
HAMMERSLEY, Philip Edward (Liberal Democrat) 596
BOSSINGHAM, Michael Edward (Green Party) 464
UPDATE: Stamford Mercury has more results from our part of Lincolnshire.

What did Labour get phil?
So now we know why you purposely spoilt your ballot paper Dilks... the writing was on the wall....happy by election campaigning in Norwich North dear boy...you fool nobody.
I heard a rumour that one or two or more Labour candidates 'forgot' to get their paperwork in on time this year, and so were able to 'conveniently avoid' getting humiliated by the electorate.
Looking at the results of Labour across Lincs, it seems even the BNP candidates were preferred to Labour
Airborne:
Labour got four seats in Lincs - very poor result.
Nationally, there were Tory gains in seats as well as councils, but clearly not the breakthrough they wanted.
The Tories got 44 per cent of the popular vote last year - but only 38 per cent this year (source: BBC).
Interestingly perhaps, the Tories also got 38 per cent in 2004 - they year before they lost the last General Election...
Geoffrey: my ballot paper wasn't spoilt - if you're talking about my nomination papers, i missed the deadline and faced the music.
Anon: don't believe the rumours. As far as I know, I was the only candidate who missed the deadline. it was certainly neither intentional nor convenient.
Not sure what results you're reading, but i can assure you that the BNP failed to win a seat in Lincolnshire - so at least something good happened...
See you in Norwich North Phil!
Up against Rev West in Norwich North Phil, that will be interesting.
